Houston we have a problemGreetings, I am working with a client who will not let me have direct access to the Internet. And before someone tells me to go to a place build your script and take to your client... you must realize the hardship that created.
The nice thing about the GUI is if I needed to make a change on the fly I could, and since it was a self encapsulated application I did not have to get some government IA officer to approve running the GUI on their system.
Since I am unable to really use the Web interface, how much different is the Web vs. Client is there?
Ideally, I would hope to see a client version made available... wishful thinking.

Thankshttps://gitlab.lsonline.fr/CodePlex/autospinstaller-gui/-/issues/56Some requests and issues2019-02-09T21:23:12ZLaurent SittlerSome requests and issuesGood day.
I have some requests and issues with AutoSPI GUI.
I'm using AutoSPInstallerGUI net4.5 on Windows 2008R2 x64 Standard server, for installing
Sharepoint 2013.
1. Is it possible to have checking for new version optional?
I don't have internet on a server and if I run the GUI and while it is starting, switch to another application window, there is no notification in taskbar of AutoSP GUI running. That means I don't know if it started or not and have to manually close all other windows to get to the Warning screen. And if I click on Show desktop button to clear the screen, then it disappears completely and I have to go to Task Manager and kill the AutoSPInstallerGUI process and start again.
2. If I click on close button, it just closes the window, but the AutoSPInstallerGUI net4.5.exe task is still running and I have to kill it in Task Manager. Some with net3.5 version.
3. There is no monitoring for any changes while working with XML file or creating new one. If I click on close butting or choose Exit, the it just closes and not asking if I want to save any changes made.
Other than that it is a fantastic application and realy helps me with runnig different installation scenarios.
Thank you for your work and hope to see some changes and enhacements coming up.Good day.

I look at the XML and I have the options defined but in the UI it's greyed out.
Also, when I look in the DB once the Usage and Health database is installed it is listed not with the names that are in the XML but rather as WSS_UsageApplication. In the GUI I have it listed as "UsageAndHealth" and should be prepended with 2013. All other DB's work great. I looked in the XML and it is set correctly. Perhaps this is an issue with the latest version of AutoSPInstaller script (I have the most current stable release being used).
Thanks,

1. When you launch AutoSPInstallerGUI.exe you need to load an .xml file, so I'm guessing you need to load the included AutoSPInstallerInput.xml file? Is that right?
2. I've seen two different tutorials and one suggests immediately renaming this file by appending the name of your server that SP will be installed on and another tutorial that suggests just leaving the default name in place. <em>Does</em> or <em>should</em> it be renamed before making your modifications?
3. Within the "Unattended Install" section of the "Install" tab, I see the "Config File" section is populated with the value "config-AutoSPInstaller.xml". Do I need to change this value? What <em>should</em> it be?
4. I see tutorials that suggest including your appropriate PID key in your config.xml files and yet I see a PID Key block within that same "Unattended Install" section of the "Install" tab. <em>Do</em> I need to modify a config.xml file(s) or simply insert my proper key in this section? If I <em>do</em> need to modify my config xml file(s) - which ones?
Thank you!
